The AI massage chair is the treatment guests ask about most when they first walk in. Here is what it is and when it makes sense.
What it is
It is a full-body massage chair guided by software. You pick from 24 programmes — from deep work on the neck and shoulders to slow, relaxing sequences for stress.
Massage is one of five treatments at Floatwell Cambridge, 500 m from the station — about massage →
What 20 minutes feels like
You sit back fully clothed, choose your programme, and the chair does the rest. Expect firm rolling along the spine, kneading through the shoulders, and compression on the arms, legs and feet. You can turn the intensity down at any point. Most people leave feeling looser through the back and noticeably calmer.
How it compares with a hands-on massage
A therapist can read your body, adjust in real time and work on one specific problem for an hour. The chair cannot replace that. What it does well is consistency, speed and price: 20 minutes of targeted work for £25, with no need to undress. Many guests use it between hands-on massages, or add it to a float or sauna.
Who it suits
- Desk workers with tight necks and shoulders.
- People who want a massage but would rather stay clothed.
- Anyone on a lunch break, or short of time.
- Regular gym-goers who want a quick top-up between sessions.
If you have a back injury, are pregnant, or have a condition affected by pressure, ask us before booking, or choose a hands-on massage where the therapist can adapt.
What it costs
A single 20-minute session is £25, five sessions are £95 and ten are £170. There is also a membership for two sessions a month. The chair is included in our Ultimate Wellbeing and Relaxation packages, and your first float can include a free AI massage. Current prices are always on our prices page.
Where to find it
The chair is at Floatwell, 6 Salisbury Villas, Station Road — 500 m from Cambridge station, with free parking at the front.
