Floatwell — mind, body, wellbeing

Floatwell Cambridge

Cookie Policy

The short version: this site sets no optional cookies unless you say yes. We use strictly necessary storage only by default, plus one optional analytics cookie — and nothing else. No advertising, no tracking across other sites.

Strictly necessary only, by default

When you first visit floatwell.co.uk, the site sets no cookies at all. Analytics and advertising storage are switched off by default in the page code itself, and the Google Analytics script is never even loaded until you choose to accept it.

Once you make a choice on the cookie banner — either Accept analytics or Reject non-essential — we save that choice in your browser's local storage so we don't have to ask you again on every page. That saved choice is the only thing we store without your analytics consent, and it exists solely to remember your answer.

The one optional cookie: analytics

If you press Accept analytics on the banner, we load Google Analytics 4 (GA4), which sets its analytics cookies in your browser. We use it to understand how the site is used — for example, which pages people find helpful — with IP anonymisation switched on. If you press Reject non-essential, Google Analytics never loads and no analytics cookies are set.

Our pages also record simple interaction events (such as which button was pressed) inside the page itself. These events set no cookies, contain no personal information, and never leave your browser unless you have accepted analytics.

We do not use advertising cookies, and consent for advertising storage and ad personalisation is permanently set to “denied” — there is no code on this site that could set them.

Videos

Some pages include YouTube videos. These are shown as a click-to-play thumbnail rather than a live embed, so nothing is loaded from YouTube, and no cookies are set, until you press play. Once you do, the video loads from youtube-nocookie.com, YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode, which does not use cookies to personalise advertising. YouTube (Google) may still set its own cookies or use other identifiers as part of delivering the video player at that point, in line with the Google Privacy Policy, but this only happens after your click and is outside our control.

How to change your mind

The banner appears whenever your browser holds no saved choice for the current version of this policy. So to withdraw or change your consent at any time:

  • Clear this site's data in your browser — usually under “Clear cookies and site data” in your browser's settings, or via the padlock icon in the address bar. This removes your saved choice and any analytics cookies.
  • On your next visit the cookie banner will reappear, and you can choose afresh.

If we ever change how we use cookies, we update the version number of your saved choice — which means the banner will reappear and ask you again rather than carrying your old answer over.
